Welcome to the web site for the College of Arts and Sciences. Arts and Sciences is the largest college on the Ohio University campus with 19 departments and a variety of other interdisciplinary programs, research centers, and institutes. The foundational instruction for the entire university, delivered through the general education and liberal arts curriculum, are centered in our thriving departments. We also provide the primary instruction for approximately one-third of the majors on campus. In addition, we have a variety of masters programs and 8 departments that offer doctoral degrees. Within our departments, centers, and institutes, a wide range of scholarly pursuits, funded research projects, and creative activities are undertaken by students, staff, and faculty. From the nuances of sub-atomic structures to the study of poverty, covering everything from French literature to complex mathematical theories, faculty members in the Arts and Sciences produce extraordinary insights and state-of-the-art findings.
