Dr. William C. Byham, B.S. '58, Zoology, M.S. '60 Psychology, has
provided a generous $1 million gift to Ohio's Bicentennial Campaign to establish
the Byham Chair in Industrial Organization, Department of Psychology.
Byham received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the College last September
19th during the annual Distinguished Alumni Award Ceremony.
Byham is
co-founder, chair, and CEO of Development Dimensions International, a leading
human resources training and consulting company. He founded the Assessment
Center Method and authored "Zapp, The Lightning of Empowerment" which has sold
more than 4.5 million copies since its 1988 publication. He assists
businesses reach their potential by teaching them how to recruit, train, and
evaluate employees.
"Dr. Byham's gift promises that the long tradition of
Industrial Organization at Ohio University will continue well into the future,"
states Jeff Vancouver, associate professor or psychology and director of the
Industrial Organization program.
