As an intern working in the Assembly you will be living in modern apartments (shown here) specially built as part of the multi-million dollar Cardiff Bay redevelopment project.  The apartments are designed for the young, professional class that has come into the area on account of the Bay project.

The apartments are situated in Adventures Quay, next to the Assembly in Cardiff Bay, one of the most exciting waterfront developments in Europe. The complex resides in Mermaid Quay, and has already attracted many visitors in recent years.  Interns reside in the picturesque environment  of Cardiff Bay.  The area is an exclusive complex complete with an attractive blend of plazas, cafés, restaurants and shops.

Although there is sufficient grocery shopping and entertainment outlets in the Bay area itself, interns will naturally wish to explore the city center.  The center is about a mile from the apartments, or 15 minutes walk.

Interns can sample the pleasures of the Bay's promenades, which includes many public works of art.  The Inner Harbour shelters the Assembly and many other impressive buildings, such as the Cardiff Bay Visitors' Centre, Norwegian Church, Techniquest and the Welsh Maritime & Industrial Museum.  Echoing the Bay's past, when it was one of the world's wealthiest ports, stands the Pierhead Building and the adjacent Mount Stuart Square.
