Beginning college is a milestone in your life. During the next four years you will meet life long friends, grow as an individual, be challenged, and experience different things you might never have expected. First Day is an extraordinary opportunity, unlike anything else. Just as you won't forget your collegiate experience, you certainly won't forget your first day.
First Day, which takes place during the winter quarter, is a collaboration between The College of Arts and Sciences and the Student Ambassadors at Ohio University. The purpose of this event is to give prospective students a realistic and candid look at the university. Even if you have visited Ohio University before, nothing compares to this program. If you haven't visited the university, "First Day" is a unique way to find out more about the college from a student's perspective.
"First Day" participants attend classes, stay in a residence hall, eat in the dining halls, and meet current students and faculty to experience first hand what college is really like. You are paired with a student mentor who answers your questions candidly. Your "First-Day" experience can provide you valuable information about the social, academic, and cultural atmosphere at Ohio University.
