College of Arts and Sciences Diversity Mission Statement

The College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio University is wholly dedicated to the recruitment, retention, and graduation of a diverse student body of excellent academic caliber. Committed to hiring faculty and recruiting underrepresented students who reflect the cultural diversity of our State and Nation, it is the goal of the College of Arts and Sciences to provide support for our multicultural students and staff, by promoting for all students an increased awareness, understanding, and acceptance of human differences and commonalities. Through curriculum, classroom instruction, programs and training, the College of Arts and Sciences strives to prepare students to become responsible, thoughtful leaders in an increasingly diverse, global community.
